Finished reading "Not on the Label" by Felicity Lawrence a non fiction look at problems in the food industry, from water and pork adulterated chicken to cheap illegal labour communities being created by supper markets to food deserts to world wide economics.
Very thorough, very interesting, very worrying but a good read without any doubt, I may never eat again ... (well that lasted a few minutes now where is my microwave meal ?)
Watched Ghost in the Shell Stand alone Complex Vol 1, very good extension into the GITS world with seemingly unrelated stories that slowly tie in, need MORE !! but at £20 a shot I might hold off for a bargain (as this one was).
Gentoo is still being good to me, feels more configurable than Debian, but that might be because I am using fluxbox over KDE or gnome.

I have been on holiday in Egypt so a small gap in postings.
I got to do some diving with my own gear and saw loads, from lion fish to giant clams to blue spotted rays etc, brilliant !
We went with our neighbors and they did one more dive than me, unfortunately they did not have a good time, the dive itself was good but there was no boat at the end and the dive master ordered them onto the reef.
Bad idea, they were in 6ft waves and subsequentially got shredded on the sharp reef, the dive master was fired, but that does not replace the equipment/personal effects or the shock !

I have finished a couple of books over the last month starting with ... erm I have lost the first one, its around here somewhere, maybe later.
OK, well the last one was Steven Kings "Everything's Eventual" a collection of 14 short stories that I only bought for a Dark Tower mini adventure.
There is a wide mix in this lot and I was surprised how much I enjoyed nearly all the stories, or course a couple fell short, but on the whole very enjoyable.
In DVD news I finally finished watching the 5 disk box set for "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water" 500+ mins. Although the drawing style is old school the story is pretty solid and enjoyable, classic ! (came with two sound track CDs)

That was the sound my hard drive made only louder !
Strange thing was that Sarah' windows hard drive had failed in a noise fashion only days before ... :(
I am so glad I had hdup running nightly and have been able to recover anything I need !

But instead of just rebuilding my old system with Debian I have setup a new system with http://www.gentoo.org
I will update the history of the machine soon.
